Deep Cinema Film Club
Deep Cinema Film Club started as a film society based in Los Angeles — but has become a way of thinking about the edges of the art form we love.
At its core, it is casual and playful, yet serious and intentional, rooted in a deep love for cinema. The club exists as a personal ritual rather than a program or platform.
Meetings happen irregularly, by design. Each gathering is an exploration of obscure, overlooked, or under-discussed art-house films — work that exists outside the current cultural conversation.
Physical media is essential. DVD is the preferred format, both as an object and as a constraint. The act of selecting, searching for, handling, and playing a disc is part of the experience.
The guiding principle is simple: to watch a film that no one else is watching at that very moment.
Deep Cinema Film Club is not about canon, trends, or familiar favorites. It is explicitly not about comfort viewing or obvious choices.
This is not a place for the expected.
